In-person Learning Return UpdatePosted on 10/02/2020Dear Parent/Guardian,
Our district leaders are continuously monitoring COVID-19 metrics from the Maricopa County Health Department. We use this data to determine when we can begin in-person instruction and we take their recommendations seriously because the safety of our staff, students and community is a top concern.
As of today, the metrics show that our community is still at a substantial risk of spread and infection. The cases are simply too high in our community. Because of this, we still do not have a specific date to return for in-person learning but robust distance learning continues at Cartwright. If you are experiencing a hardship at home where distance learning is difficult or becoming nearly impossible, please contact your school principal immediately. They will be happy to assist you.
Attached you will find metrics for our area and a letter from superintendents in Phoenix, including our Superintendent Dr. LeeAnn Aguilar-Lawlor, explaining how they’re working together to achieve a safe and healthy outcome for our community. Trust that we are making the right decisions for all involved. We hope Parent/Teacher Conferences are going well, we are immensely proud of the work and support you’ve offered your student(s) at home, we cannot do this great work without you!
Enjoy your Fall Break next week!
-The Cartwright School District.
