D-Backs Jam Highlights Student EssaysPosted on 09/27/2019On September 25th, our 6th grade students enjoyed a D-backs game courtesy of Maricopa County Supervisor and former Cartwright Board President, Steve Gallardo. Our very own student Elijah Lowe from Holiday Park threw out the first pitch because he won the essay contest. In order to gain entry to the game, students had to volunteer in their community and write essays about their experience. Nearly 1,000 students from our district cheered on the Diamondbacks, where they won over St. Louis, 9-7. It was the first time to a professional baseball game for many students, they had such a great time. A huge shoutout to Supervisor Gallardo, for providing this opportunity and creating memories for many of our students.
