GCU, Brewers Learning Lab OpensPosted on 10/02/2019Thanks to our partnership with GCU and the Milwaukee Brewers, Cartwright students now have another resource for academic success. The GCU Learning Lounge is a K-12 learning facility where students can receive one-on-one academic support from university students. The Learning Advocates (LEADs) assist with all major K-12 content areas, including support for students who participate in Dual Enrollment and AP courses.
In addition to providing academic support, the LEADs also serve as mentors for college bound hopefuls, regardless of which college they have in mind. They have been serving the K-12 community on their main campus since 2013. In late April, they opened their first off-campus facility in partnership with the Milwaukee Brewers. The Learning Lab is located at the Brewer's training facility on 53rd Avenue, which is in close proximity to many schools in the Cartwright School District as well as Maryvale and Trevor Browne high schools.
