Wrestling Champion Inspires 8th Graders

The STEM and College and Career Department hosted the annual 8th Grade College and Career Kickoff event at Marc T. Atkinson Middle School on August 30th. 8th graders from all over the district participated in this event. NCAA Division I Wrestling Championship  winner and Author, Anthony Robles, spoke to our students on the importance of overcoming obstacles and the value in perseverance. The event is designed to inspire students to understand the importance of college and career.  Two students from each school were chosen by their administrators for a VIP experience. These students were chosen on excellent behavior and/or academic achievement. The selected VIP students had reserved seating and were treated to a meet and greet with Anthony and a signed autographed copy of his book, Unstoppable.
