Cartwright's award-winning Public Relations Department is committed to promoting positive stories within the Cartwright School District. We believe that by informing parents and students about the wonderful academic programs Cartwright offers and the local community events provided, their lives will be enriched and they will thrive in and out of Cartwright classrooms. During a recent parent survey, the department was given a 97% satisfaction rating by parents on the effectiveness of their communication strategies. The team has also won dozens of ASPRA (Arizona School Public Relations Association Awards) that include marketing campaigns designed around videos, postcards, billboards, writing, community events, and multi-media projects.
The Department communicates with parents and stakeholders weekly via robocalls, texts, the district website, email blasts, social media, and through the monthly parent newsletter – which is well-received by our community and deemed highly informative. The team prides itself on fostering positive and collaborative relations with media partners. The goal is always to tell the rich stories of Cartwright’s students, staff, and community successes.
The department also manages all interpreter/translating services for parents and presents Cartwright's Award of Excellence awards, Teacher of the Month awards, Red Carpet Awards (which honors support staff members), and presents communications-related procedures and celebrations at all major district meetings including our Governing Board meetings. The team is also responsible for community outreach as well as key school celebrations such as the Retirement Dinner, Honor Hour (which celebrates veterans), the 9-11 First Responder commemoration breakfast as well as the district Holiday Give-back Luncheon in which district departments adopt an underserved family in each of our schools.
