• We are forever grateful to our Maryvale community for your support in passing our bond. Through your support, we have been able to construct 2 new gym facilities; one at Glenn L. Downs Social Sciences Academy and one at Charles W. Harris Elementary School. Your support of our bond has also allowed us to construct 2 new bus lane extensions at Peralta and Cartwright Elementary Schools helping to improve traffic flow near our schools. We also used bond funds to purchase our first electric bus in July 2021 and have plans to expand our electric bus fleet to improve air quality in our district and the Maryvale community. We are busy upgrading athletic facilities, including baseball and softball fields, and soccer fields at Glenn L. Downs Social Sciences Academy, Charles W. Harris Elementary School and Desert Sands Middle School. Current projects that are in progress also include a bus lane installation at Holiday Park Elementary School and construction of an outdoor learning space at Desert Sands Middle School and Academy of Mass Communication and Journalism. We have also been fortunate to receive federal funds to purchase state-of-the-art furniture for our classrooms. Our Students deserve and are receiving the very best education and quality of facilities because of your support. We hear you when it comes to providing for the safest learning environments for our scholars. We are exploring a variety of safety upgrades to address our bond funds that will include enhanced door locking technology for supporting lockdowns and upgrading perimeter fencing to keep our scholars and staff safe and secure. We are all in this together to keep a safe, secure, and joyous learning environment for our scholars and staff. Thank you for your continued support and confidence. We are also excited to welcome Southwest Food Excellence (SFE) as our new food service. management company. We are confident that with SFE as our partners, our scholars are going to receive top-quality meals in a fun cafeteria environment where they and their parents will inform our menu offerings to keep our students engaged in their dining experience at school. We welcome SFE and are excited for a great year of outstanding food and service.

We'd also like to thank our School Safety Task Force for their safety upgrade recommendations. Without our School Safety Task Force, these projects would be exceedingly difficult to tackle. They bring a level of expertise and commitment that ensures our entire district stays safe and sound.
