Governing Board Votes for 4-day School WeekPosted on 05/29/2020
Dear Cartwright Familia!
We miss you and your children! I know that we are technically on summer break, and many of you are enjoying this time away from distance learning, but I wanted to share some exciting news and some thoughts on next steps. Our Governing Board recently voted to adopt a 4-day student schedule for the upcoming school year with Fridays off for all students. Friday will be designated as a “deep cleaning day” in order to safeguard our students and staff from the COVID-19 virus. I know that childcare can be an issue, and I want you to know that we are actively working on providing free or affordable childcare on Fridays beginning on day one when school starts August 3, 2020. If you are fearful of dropping off your child at school on August 3rd, let me reassure you that there will be distance learning options available to you. More information on that will be forthcoming. If you need technology, it will be provided for you and we will also assist you with connectivity.
While next year will not look exactly like the start of the previous year, we want you to know that your safety and your child’s safety is of utmost importance to us and we will continue to educate our students at the highest levels, with safety always in mind. One thing is for sure, we have each other. Let's not take it for granted. Stay safe!
Dr. LeeAnn Aguilar-Lawlor
Proud Superintendent
