The Cartwright Virtual Academy is a brand new addition to the list of high-quality educational offerings available through the Cartwright School District.  Starting with the 2021-2022 school year, parents will have the option to enroll their child in an online program that features a flexible learning environment backed up by Cartwright's curriculum which provides access to extensive onsite services and extracurricular opportunities.

Scholars enrolled in the Cartwright Virtual Academy (CVA) will have the unique option to direct their own learning from home while having access to Cartwright's highly effective educational programming and outstanding student resources.  Even though much of their learning is independent, highly qualified Cartwright educators will design lessons and activities that encourage students to interact with the world in new and interesting ways.  Furthermore, students will have regular access to their teacher through tutoring, small group instruction, as well as daily morning meetings.  Teachers will also encourage student collaboration with peers through online small group activities.

Beyond online instruction, scholars enrolled in the CVA will also be co-enrolled in a physical school site.  This will provide access to onsite clubs and activities, additional in-person tutoring, athletics, and a host of social-emotional resources, including a school counselor.  This is something that many online-only programs cannot provide, and it makes the CVA stand out amongst its peers. Ryan AndersonThe Cartwright School District is proud to announce the opening of the Cartwright Virtual Academy, a fully accredited Arizona Online Instruction (AOI) program.  As a district, we learned a lot from distance learning during this past year.  We know there were many scholars who thrived in the flexibility that came with online learning from home, and we want to continue to offer that programming for those families who want it.

The Cartwright Virtual Academy is open to all Kindergarten through 8th Grade scholars that reside in the State of Arizona, and are interested in a flexible option that allows learning from home.  High-quality lessons are developed by Cartwright’s very own highly qualified, state-certified teaching staff utilizing Cartwright’s brand new, cutting-edge curriculum.  Lessons can be completed at any time, however, the teachers will be offering regular office hours for one-on-one support and small group instruction.  All scholars will be receiving their own Chromebook laptop to complete their assignments from home, and for those families that need it, the district will provide support with internet access.

We know that online instruction is not for everyone, so you are encouraged to review the Arizona State requirements for enrollment in an online instruction program.  For those who still have questions, need more information or are simply ready to enroll, please give us a call.  We are excited about this new opportunity, and we are standing by to support you with your next steps.
