Our new teacher orientation kicked off this morning at the District Training Center! New staff had the opportunity to hear from Acting Superintendent Dr. Barrantes SantaMaria and members of the Executive Team. The day also included breakfast, lunch, and a fun gift raffle to help welcome our newest educators to the Cartwright family.

The Atkinson Gifted Academy clap-out ceremony, a beloved end-of-year tradition, took place this afternoon. Students and teachers from both Atkinson Gifted Academy and Tarver, along with Acting Superintendent Dr. Alfredo Barrantes, lined the hallways to cheer for the 8th graders.

Today, Peralta Elementary hosted an end-of-year literacy event! Students went home with 10 FREE books 📚, a reading T-shirt 👕, and raffle tickets 🎟️. Parents also learned simple ways to support reading at home. Proud to keep students reading all summer long!

We are so grateful to the BHHS Legacy Foundation for creating a clothing closet filled with new uniforms for our students. They generously set up a classroom at the Cartwright Family Center to display all the donated uniforms, backpacks, books, jackets, and many other items.
As you can see in the video below, we held a special ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate this wonderful new resource for our students. A huge thank you to all the representatives from the BHHS Legacy Foundation who joined us.
