Today, Peralta Elementary hosted an end-of-year literacy event! Students went home with 10 FREE books 📚, a reading T-shirt 👕, and raffle tickets 🎟️. Parents also learned simple ways to support reading at home. Proud to keep students reading all summer long!

Our acting superintendent was out and about today!
He spent the day visiting schools and meeting with parents and staff—a fantastic way to build connections and hear directly from the heartbeat of our community.

Students and staff came together to celebrate reading by dressing up as their favorite book characters. From magical adventures to classic stories, it was a fun and creative way to bring books to life! 🏰🦄🧙🏽‍♂️🧸

Acting Superintendent Dr. Barrantes SantaMaria visited Holiday Park School, G. Frank Davidson, and Sunset Elementary School today reconnecting with familiar faces and spending time with the amazing staff who make our schools so special.
He was truly inspired by the heart and dedication our educators bring every single day. We’re excited to keep these visits going and continue connecting with our teams across the district.

We are so grateful to the BHHS Legacy Foundation for creating a clothing closet filled with new uniforms for our students. They generously set up a classroom at the Cartwright Family Center to display all the donated uniforms, backpacks, books, jackets, and many other items.
As you can see in the video below, we held a special ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate this wonderful new resource for our students. A huge thank you to all the representatives from the BHHS Legacy Foundation who joined us.
We'd also like to thank Assistant Superintendent of Education Services, Marco Ruiz, and Director of Safe Schools, Dr. Perez, for attending and showing their support. We appreciate everyone who came together for this event.
