    Sunset, a K-6 school, is proud to have an "A" rating from The Arizona Department of Education. Until recently, it was the only "A" rated school in the Maryvale area. Our other K-6 schools, Starlight Park and Tomahawk Elementary also share that distinction. Former principal, Kristi Wells, was awarded the Rodel Exemplary Principal of the Year in 2017. Student achievement is such a priority at Sunset that Governor Doug Ducey felt compelled to visit the school in 2017.
