After our scholars headed home early on Friday, our teachers stayed behind to keep the learning going! 💜
Our team spent the afternoon digging into MIMIC data, identifying areas of growth, setting meaningful goals, and reassessing our Steps to Success as departments.
It was a great opportunity to reflect on where we are, where we want our scholars to be, and, most importantly, what we can do next to help them get there. 📊🎯

Shoutout to Mrs. Soltero’s Gifted ELA Class! ⭐️
While reading “Embarrassed? Blame Your Brain,” students were challenged to go beyond simply finding evidence- they had to determine which evidence was the strongest and most convincing for their assigned claim.
Working in groups, students dug into the text, identified 3 strong pieces of evidence, and used the R.I.S.E. strategy to analyze, defend, and rank their evidence. They then put their reasoning into posters and participated in a Gallery Walk, evaluating their peers’ evidence using a rubric.
A rigorous task that pushed our gifted learners to think critically, justify their choices, and defend their thinking with text evidence. 📚💡

Our first PBIS Reward Party was a huge success! Students who used their PBIS points for a ticket enjoyed snacks, music, dancing, games, Lotería, and some very competitive musical chairs! 💃🕺🎶

Looking Back on Our First Friday! 💜
Last Friday was our first Friday back on campus as we returned to a Monday–Friday school week all year long! 🎉
Our Stars were excited to be back! 🚌 From getting off the buses to settling into classrooms and getting right to work, our students finished the first week strong! 📚✨
Remember, Fridays are Early Release at 1:00 PM. ⏰
