Baseball season continues and special guests stopped by Manuel Lito Peña Elementary School to bring school materials. The Coyotes met with former Diamondbacks player Luis Gonzalez and representatives from Honeywell Aerospace on Wednesday. They provided our learners with  STEM storybooks and backpacks.

Gonzalez made baseball history when he helped the Diamondbacks in 2001 win their first World Series. Students excitedly interacted with him and joined him for a photo-op.

“My mom was a school teacher, so I grew up in the education system,” he said. “So it's always a pleasure for me to come back and see a lot of these kids and these teachers that are helping to develop these kids.”

Gonzalez also said teachers will instill little things in students and form a major part of their lives.
