A female reporter interviewing a group of elementary age students outside of school as a cameraman records them

The excitement of a new school year was on full display at Justine Spitalny STEAM School as students were welcomed back with one of the campus’s most meaningful traditions, the annual Tunnel of Hope.

As students arrived for their first day, they walked through a tunnel lined with cheering teachers, staff members, families, and community supporters who celebrated their return and encouraged them for the year ahead.

The Tunnel of Hope represents more than just a welcome-back celebration. It is a reminder to students that they have a strong support system cheering them on every step of the way. The tradition helps create a positive school environment where students feel seen, valued, and ready to take on new challenges.

As a STEAM campus, Spitalny continues to inspire students through opportunities that encourage creativity, curiosity, collaboration, and innovation. The school focuses on developing well-rounded students while providing a supportive environment where every child can grow and succeed.

The celebration captured the spirit of what makes the Cartwright community special: a commitment to supporting students academically, socially, and emotionally from the very first day of school.

Thank you to our Spitalny staff, families, and community partners for helping create a memorable welcome for our students. Together, we continue to show that we are growing together.
