Cartwright School District proudly welcomed employees back for the 2026–2027 school year with its annual Welcome Back Conference, bringing together nearly 2,000 staff members, including administrators, principals, teachers, support staff, custodial teams, cafeteria workers, transportation staff, and district office employees.
The event began on a high note with a vibrant performance by the Raul H. Castro Middle School Mariachi Band, under the direction of Mr. Lopez. The band energized the audience with classic Mexican songs, including De Colores, setting a festive and uplifting tone for the day. Following the mariachi performance, the Raul H. Castro Middle School Choir delivered a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem, creating a patriotic and inspiring start to the conference while showcasing the exceptional talent of Cartwright students.
Acting Superintendent Dr. Barrantes welcomed staff and shared an encouraging message as the district begins another year of learning, growth, and opportunity. Members of the Executive Team and the Cartwright Governing Board also joined employees in celebrating the start of the new school year and recognizing the important role every staff member plays in student success.
The conference's keynote speaker, Dr. Sharon Kramer, delivered an inspiring presentation that challenged and motivated staff as they prepare to make a positive impact in classrooms and across the district. Her message emphasized the importance of purpose, collaboration, and creating meaningful learning experiences for every student.
The Welcome Back Conference was filled with energy, positivity, and Cartwright pride as employees reconnected, celebrated the district's accomplishments, and looked ahead to the opportunities the new school year will bring.
Cartwright School District extends its sincere appreciation to Acting Superintendent Dr. Barrantes, the Executive Team, the Governing Board, Dr. Sharon Kramer, the Raul H. Castro Middle School Mariachi Band and Choir, and everyone who helped make this event a success. We wish all students and staff a wonderful 2026–2027 school year. Together, We Are Cartwright. We Are Growing Together!
