CW Harris School celebrated Red Ribbon Week this morning with fun, engaging activities promoting healthy choices and a drug-free lifestyle! Together, we’re empowering our scholars to make positive decisions and build a brighter future.

Families and educators filled the Cartwright Training Center this morning for a Teacher-Parent Workshop centered on early childhood activities and kindergarten readiness. Governing Board President Lydia Hernandez, board member Denice Garcia, and Acting Superintendent Dr. Alfredo Barrantes welcomed families and took part in the classroom activities.

This week, our students are discovering dragon fruit, a vibrant and delicious fruit native to Central America and Mexico, now enjoyed around the world! Through this weekly experience, students will explore fruits from different countries, learn about their origins and cultures, and discover new flavors while building healthy eating habits. At Cartwright, learning goes beyond the classroom...sometimes, it starts with a bite!

What an amazing night at our Band & Strings Concert! 🎶✨

Our Intermediate Band, Beginning Strings, and Intermediate Strings all did an incredible job showcasing their hard work and dedication. It was clear how much time, effort, and heart our students have put into their music.

Last week we had the best time celebrating our amazing teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week! 🍎💛

A huge thank you to our incredible parent volunteers for putting together a delicious lunch for our staff.. it was truly appreciated and made everyone feel so valued!

Families are welcome to attend and cheer on our students throughout the event! 🏃🏾 Students should come dressed in their Tie-Dye shirts, comfortable shoes, athletic bottoms, and bring a water bottle. We are asking that students come with NO BACKPACKS on Thursday,

Yesterday we had a special visit from the Maryvale High School dance team, and it was such an inspiring experience for our students!

It was so meaningful for them to see what opportunities and activities they can be a part of as they continue their education!

Don’t forget! Student Council is still doing pre-sale tickets for Field Day concessions! All concession items will be $1 each and include chips, popsicles, water, and Kool-Aid. To help make concession lines move faster during Field Day, we will be selling pre-sale tickets in the mornings in front of the office!

Our tie-dye activity is happening this Thursday! Please make sure your student brings in their white t-shirt before Thursday so they can participate in the fun. Thank you for helping us get ready for a colorful and exciting activity! 👕✨

We are collecting white t-shirts for our upcoming tie-dye activity. Please send in a white t-shirt for your student no later than April 30th (this is the day we will be tie-dyeing). If you've already sent in a t-shirt, you rock! If you donate an extra shirt, your child will receive 1 free snack at the concession on field day. Thank you if you've already donated!
