PRINCIPAL MESSAGE (Click here)

Dear Parents, Guardians and Community Members,

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! We are excited to be able to educate your child(ren) again for another year! My name is Craig Horpedahl and this is my 6th year as principal at Heatherbrae. Our staff has been working tirelessly to ensure your child(ren) get the education they deserve and will do what we can to get a year’s growth out of each scholar this year.

Get involved! We have monthly Coffee Talks that take place on Tuesdays at 8:30 AM in our cafeteria. This is a great time to see what is taking place each month on campus and also learn from outside resources that we bring in on raising healthy children and getting support about opportunities around our community. We also have ParentSquare as a means of communicating events coming up on campus and connecting directly with your child’s teacher.

We serve breakfast in the classroom each morning and provide a wonderful lunch for free each day. We also have a program for families to receive free produce twice a month with our partnership with Brighter Bites. More information is available in the front office to sign up to receive this great opportunity to bring in fresh produce to your home!

School hours are 7:45 AM to 2:45 PM. Our gates open at 7:30 AM for students to play on the playground before the first bell rings. Please drop your child off before the tardy bell rings at 7:45 AM. It is very important your child attends school every day and is on time. We also offer Before School Care from 7:00 AM to 7:30 AM. There are registration packets in the front office to sign up.It is important for your student to finish the school day. We will not release students after 2:20pm.Thanks for your support!

Cartwright School District is a uniform district and we have our own colors for tops and bottoms that students are required to wear. For tops, students can wear a collared shirt or plain t-shirt in the colors of Red, Navy Blue or Gray. Heatherbrae t-shirts are also acceptable. For bottoms, students can wear jeans, pants or shorts/skirts in the color of khaki or navy blue. No rips or tears are allowed. Please send students in closed toe shoes, as flip flops/sandals are not allowed.

We want to make sure your child(ren) has the best experience at school. Learning is always taking place and it is important to be here each day so your child can be successful. Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you have questions or communicate any needs for your child. We believe a strong partnership with families makes the learning experience even more enjoyable for everyone.

If you have questions, please contact the front office or myself any time. We look forward to another successful school year and look forward to seeing everyone on campus!
