Dear Glenn L. Downs Community, 

 

The 2024-2025 school year is almost here! I'm excited to work with you all to help our students succeed. I know this year will be one of our best yet. Here’s some important information for you so that you are ready to come back:

 

**Meet the Teacher Night**

- Date: Thursday, August 1, 2024

- Time: 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

- Place: School gym

- Details: Teachers will be at grade level  tables to meet students and families. Kona Ice will sell slushies as you exit the gym.

 

**First Day of School**

- Date: Monday, August 5th

- Time: 8:30 am (Students can arrive at 8:20 am for breakfast)

- Note: Students arriving after 8:30 am are tardy and need a pass from the office.

 

**School Hours**

- Monday to Thursday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm

 

**School Office Hours**

-Monday to Thursday, 7:30-4:00pm

 

**School Uniforms**

- Shirts: Polo or plain t-shirts (white, light blue, navy, red, black, gray)

- Pants/Shorts/Skirts: (Khaki, gray, blue, or black (no rips or holes in jeans)

- Spirit shirts are allowed.

- Closed-toe shoes only (Crocs are okay but not for PE).

- No sagging pants.

 

**More information**

-We are an Away During the Day” school meaning NO CELL PHONES during the school day

-All students are required to wear a badge everyday. They will be provided with one. The replacements cost is $3.00
