Desert Sands competes in the VEX IQ Middle School World Championship

The Desert Sands Scorpions Robotics team competed in the VEX IQ Middle School World Championship this week in Dallas, Texas. All in their first year of robotics, our amazing scholars, Jaci Homa and Valerie Breidt, made it to the Worlds to compete with 800 teams from 48 states and 40 countries.
The Scorpions participated in 10 matches over 2 days with teams from Indiana, Texas, and more and they ranked 48 out of 78 in the Design Division.
With the leadership of Coach Christopher Strickland, these students persevered and solved problems on the spot in a high-pressure environment and learned how to adapt and work as a team while also meeting students from all over the world.
