How to Enroll

Complete the Express Enrollment PDF in English or Spanish and email it to enrollment@csd83.org or print the packet and bring it to your school during the Kindergarten enrollment event. The fillable forms work best downloaded and opened with a PDF Reader like Adobe Acrobat™. Please sign and date the forms when you bring the packet to school. The Cartwright School District is an open-enrollment district.

Kindergarten is the foundation for all scholars and we believe we offer the best foundation with the only three “A” rated schools in the Maryvale area! You can register from 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. at all Cartwright K-6 and K-8 schools!

The event will focus on the alphabet, counting, shapes, colors and other kinder readiness topics. Your child will also have the opportunity to meet their kindergarten teachers and to tour their classrooms and parents will have the opportunity to complete the necessary forms. Please bring your child's vaccination records and birth certificate as well as a proof of address document and a parent/guardian photo identification.

Kindergarten is a crucial year in a child's education. For many students, it’s their first introduction to school. If they didn’t  attend preschool, a kindergarten class is their first experience of school. It’s in these classrooms that students learn what school is like.

Kindergarten builds the foundation for other grades. Students learn many basics, like letters, numbers, reading, writing, addition, subtraction, the list goes on and on. All of these skills are necessary for students to learn so they can be successful in first grade, second grade, on and on until the end of their schooling.

Kindergartners also learn social skills. This is what helps them make friends, learn confidence and be an overall kind and caring human. Students learn social skills both in the classroom and on the playground. Kindergarten students need to learn these skills to be successful, kind, communicating adults.

The Cartwright School District is an amazing place for your child to learn and grow.  Our district provides scholars with STEAM (science, technology, art, and math) as well as music, physical education and most importantly, kinder students learn how to read and write. Our teachers are certified to teacher by the State of Arizona  Our district offers choice to families.  We have dual language Spanish classes, gifted education and, for those families who want to learn at home, we have the Cartwright Virtual Academy.

The Cartwright family welcome you to the district.  If you have questions or need more information, please contact your child’s future school!
