Meet Dr. LeeAnn Aguilar-Lawlor's Superintendent Leadership Team.

Rebecca OsunaDr. Rebecca Osuna
Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services

Dr. Rebecca M. Osuna is the Assistant Superintendent for Administrative Services. She joined the Cartwright School District in 2011. Dr. Osuna spent 8 years as a Bilingual Education primary teacher and 17 years as a school administrator, serving as both Principal and Assistant Principal. She received her doctorate from Northern Arizona University in Administrative Leadership and her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Arizona State University. Dr. Osuna believes parental participation is key when it comes to children succeeding in the classroom. "Parental involvement is important in developing a student who will be successful in life. By building upon the good in people with who we work and the strengths of the organization, I believe that the educational community will be successful in accomplishing the ultimate goal of student achievement." - Dr. Rebecca Osuna.

Dr. Cecilia MaesDr. Cecilia Maes
Deputy Superintendent for District Operations & Personnel Services

Dr. Cecilia Maes is responsible for the operations of the following departments: B&O, Food Services, Information Technology, and Transportation.  She previously was the Director of Special Services. She is passionate about equity in education and ensuring children who require special services receive the differentiated instruction they need to reach their fullest potential. Prior to her role as director, Dr. Maes was the proud principal of Manuel Peña Jr. Elementary from 2005-2012 and prior to that she served as Cartwright Elementary's assistant principal. 

Ema J.Ema Jáuregui
Deputy Superintendent of Educational & Family Services

Ema Jáuregui began her career teaching in a K-8 school. She continued her teaching experience as a middle school teacher at Estrella Middle School. She entered school administration as the assistant principal of a preschool. Then she served as an assistant principal in a K-5, K-8, and a middle school for 6 years. She spent 6 years as the principal of our school John F. Long Elementary. Ema also served as the director of STEM/PLC for 3 years.

Victoria FarrarVictoria Farrar, MBA
Chief Financial Officer 

Primarily manages procurement and special projects for Cartwright School District. She has over seven years of experience managing all areas of school operations including human resources, transportation, business services, food service, maintenance, and accounting. She is a member of the Arizona Association of School Business Officials and currently serves on the membership committee. She received her MBA from Grand Canyon University and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Texas at Dallas with a BA in Political Science.

Patricia LopezPatricia Lopez
Executive Director of School Leadership

Patricia Lopez has more than 34 years of experience as a teacher and administrator. She has taught special education, regular education and ELL. She was an assistant principal of a K-6 school, principal of an elementary and middle school, the Director of Teaching and Learning and currently is the Executive Director for School Leadership. Patricia has done extensive work in professional development with teachers and school administrators in the areas of curriculum and instruction and Visible Learning. She has also worked as a facilitator with governing board members and served for 10 years as a Governing Board Member in her home district. Patricia is a former foster parent, surrogate parent for students in foster care who needed special education services and is currently the founder of the Krystal Lopez Memorial Scholarship Fund, which serves to provide scholarships to teens fighting cancer. Patricia’s passion is to improve learning for all students and provide support to teachers and administrators so that they can grow professionally and create great schools for our families. Patricia believes in the power of teachers, parents, and administrators working together to provide students with high quality and well-rounded education. She has studied the work of John Hattie and believes in the philosophy that we are "Evaluators of our Own Impact."  Her Vision as the Executive Director of Leadership: To provide principals with support and help them grow as strong instructional leaders on their campus and create a culture and climate that includes high quality and well-rounded educational experience for students, professional growth for teachers and a welcoming environment for families.

Tom HancockTom Hancock
Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources

Mr. Thomas Hancock has been working in public education since 2004. His prior experiences in Cartwright include serving as an elementary teacher, curriculum specialist, assistant principal, principal, and the Assistant Director of Human Resources. Additionally, he was the Director/Administrator for Human Resources in the Peoria Unified School District and the Vice President of Human Resources for an educational staffing company. Mr. Hancock has a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Michigan State University.

Veronica SanchezVeronica Sanchez
Director of Communications and Community Engagement

Veronica Sanchez is an Emmy award-winning former journalist. Before she came to Cartwright to serve as Director of Communications and Community Engagement, she had a long career in television news. She was the consumer reporter at the NBC affiliate, Channel 12 in Phoenix and also reported in Las Vegas, NV, and Fresno, CA. Veronica is passionate about communications and loves to tell the stories of Cartwright students.

Christine SantosChristine Santos
Executive Assistant

Christine Santos has been in the Cartwright School District, since February 2006. She is currently one of two Executive Assistants to the Superintendent and Governing Board. Christine is passionate about serving the community of the Cartwright School District and loves working in education to assist students and their families.

Linda ParkerLinda Parker
Executive Assistant

Linda Parker is the Executive Coordinator for Superintendent Dr. LeeAnn Aguilar-Lawlor. She has been with the district since 1987 and has served the district and the community in several positions over the years.
